Kim Southam

Office Manager

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV (Frontline Management)
  • Certificate III (Business Administration)

Recruited as a trainee in 2003, Kim’s tenure over the following two decades has cemented her position as a trusted, highly respected administrator both within the firm, and the greater community.

Initially employed to process new work, mail, and incoming queries, Kim’s proficiency with numbers was soon noticed and she began to assist – eventually taking over – accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and debt collection.

Over the years, and increasingly as she was promoted to Office Manager in 2011, Kim has developed systems, onboarded, and trained all staff, managed report generation, documentation, and administration staff, plus the research, development and business delivery of databases, workflow systems, and new technologies and business tools as file management improved and evolved.

As the valuation requirements have become significantly more complex, and the project opportunities greater, Walsh & Monaghan has expanded its footprint, opened new offices, and more than doubled its workforce. Kim has remained the steadying influence throughout, acting as IT expert, fleet controller, and HR officer, facilitating the growth of the firm to the point she has a team of five in place (and growing) to ensure operations are running smoothly.

Not surprisingly, when away from the office Kim enjoys peaceful walks, yoga and pilates.
