Darren developed insight into the property world early on in his career as a Lending and Securities Officer with the National Australia Bank facilitating loan approvals and liaising with conveyancers and customers alike.
Moving into Real Estate sales for the second phase of his career development gave Darren a unique vantage to what motivates vendors and purchasers, the art of property presentation; and the challenges facing agents, landowners, and tenants across the property market.
A Company Director (since 2005) with almost 30 years’ experience in real estate sales and valuation, Darren has a reputation for quality service, sound judgement, and excellent client liaison and rapport. His professional diplomacy has seen him appointed as current State Chair for the Australian Property Institute, and current Chairman of the Network Property Advisory Group and Professional Indemnity Insurance subcommittee.
A key strategist and respected leader, Darren’s experience in all aspects of valuations is crucial to Walsh & Monaghan’s growing team and the company’s long-term success.
As well as his history managing major projects, assessing complex Just Terms Acquisition and Determination work for Shoalhaven City Council, the Valuer General and Transport for NSW, plus overseeing the delivery of his team’s professionally realised values, Darren’s specialties include commercial property, childcare centres, caravan park, hotel/motels, and unique tourism holdings.
At home, it’s all about family, football, and holiday flights for Darren: preferably all three at once if he can pull it off.
Walsh & Monaghan acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which our business has operated for the past 100 years. We offer our respect to those who currently care for these lands, we recognise and appreciate the work of past custodians who have so diligently cared for these countries, and we look forward to the next generation of custodians who have learnt this skill from their ancestors. We vow to the people of the Eroa, Yuin, Dharawal, Djiringanj, Thaua and Gundungurra nations, to respect and care for these lands as they themselves do.
